Kākou is a Hawaiian word meaning “we”. It signifies equality and inclusivity, and promotes working together for the greater good.

Coming soon to O’ahu is Kākou Club, a program for adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities.

Our programs are designed to empower members through creative activities, volunteer work, recreation, and life skill lessons.

It is a place to have fun, create, learn, and grow while connecting to Hawai’i and the community!

At Kākou Club members find belonging, friendship, inspiration, and support.

Our programs are rooted in 4 key values:

A space to grow and thrive

Kākou Club is geared toward adults aged 18 and up, with intellectual or developmental disabilities

What are some things required of members to attend?

  • Resident of O’ahu with an ID or DD

  • Has goals the program can support

  • Able to function in a 1:6 staff-to-member setting

  • Non-harming toward others and self

What will our members enjoy?

  • Increasing their independence

  • Interacting and sharing space with others

  • Learning and being creative

  • Movement and getting outdoors

What will membership cost?

  • We will offer private payment plans

  • We hope to welcome the Medicaid Waiver program as well

  • Membership and attendance is what you want it to be!
